Helen Halewski, Chief Human Resources and Organizational Development Officer of Hillside Family of Agencies, has earned the 2016 HR Executive of the Year Award from the regional chapter of the National Human Resources Association (NHRA).

In winning this prestigious award, Halewski was recognized by the NHRA for a variety of high-performing qualities. These include her innovative spirit and leadership; her commitment to preparing her organization for the future; her significant contributions that impact her employer as well as the larger HR community and the communities in which we all live; and her ability to inspire others toward excellence.

Prior to joining Hillside in 2009, Helen had significant human resources and strategic planning experience with corporate organizations including Altria, American Express and Bausch & Lomb. She is also the leader of Hillside’s Institute for Family Connections™, and has responsibility for leading the organization’s strategic planning processes.

Established in 1951, NHRA’s national focus is on facilitating the advancement of HR professionals in the areas of individual career development, planning and leadership. Through diverse programs and services, the organization supports HR professionals – from intern to executive – as Human Resources leads the way for change in today’s business world.

In November 2015, Halewski was named an NHRA finalist in the Large Employer category. She received her award at a celebratory luncheon on April 28 at Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford, NY.
