Funding will assist Hillside Children’s Center in upgrade of its telecommunications system
Rochester,
NY-October 30, 2007- Hillside Family of Agencies has been awarded over $640,000
from the E-rate Program sponsored by the Federal Communications Commission for
telecommunications improvements at its Hillside Children’s Center affiliate. The
funds will cover up to 90 percent of telecommunications expenses for local and
long distance calling, as well as major capital improvements to the
telecommunications infrastructure at Hillside Children’s Center’s campuses in
Rochester, Webster, Cayuga County, and Seneca County.
In securing the grant, Hillside utilized the E-rate consulting services of Tariff Affiliates, Inc. of Victor, NY, to handle all the application processing related to the grant funding.
“Tariff Affiliates has brought a high level of competence to our E-rate funding application process. Never before have we received this large amount so early in the funding year. The $640,000 gives Hillside the ability to leverage our resources to more effectively meet our goal of helping children and families to build better futures,” said Paul Perrotto, Hillside Family of Agencies Chief Financial Officer.
The Universal Service Fund, commonly known as "E-Rate," is administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) under the direction of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and provides discounts to assist most schools and libraries in the United States to obtain affordable telecommunications and Internet access.
