Hillside Family of Agencies appoints Linda Miller Chief Service Development Officer

Former interim president of Department 56, Inc. will provide full-time focus on development of services across coverage areas

Rochester, NY-October 3, 2007- Hillside Family of Agencies has appointed Linda Miller to serve as the organization’s new chief service development officer.

In this role, Miller will oversee and manage the response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), implementation of new services, and the research of funding for expansion and new service growth throughout the organization.

According to Dennis Richardson, Hillside Family of Agencies president and CEO, the position was created for very compelling reasons.

“The complexity of Hillside has provided us with the opportunity for the further development of services,” said Richardson.

In addition, Richardson believes that the new position will help to “further build the quality of service delivery throughout the organization.”

Miller comes to Hillside after most recently serving as the interim president of Department 56. She has also had executive-level experience as a group vice president for Business Planning with that organization, as well as a senior vice president of marketing for PSC, Inc. and the vice president of business planning for Champion Products, Sara Lee Corporation.

“Linda brings a track record of success in helping organizations deliver excellent services,” said Richardson, noting that Miller’s experience in mergers and acquisitions and the ability to focus on both inorganic and organic organizational growth was important.

“We imagine in the future that there will be further acquisitions. We’ve been able to use them to improve our service delivery and they have added to our System of Care. The same holds for the future,” said Richardson.

For Miller, coming to Hillside was about making a difference.

“If you sell one more Christmas ornament, it’s not going to make a difference in the world. I wanted to do something that made a difference to the community and helped people,” said Miller.

Miller earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Administration from the General Motors Institute in 1983. From there, she earned a MBA with a concentration in marketing and finance from the University of Michigan in 1986.
