Hillside Special Santas Unwraps 25 Years of Caring on November 30
Hillside Special Santas, the Hillside Family of Agencies’ holiday giving program that offers the community an opportunity to help youth and families build better futures, will hold a one of a kind unwrapping of Hillside Special Santas Headquarters on Thursday, November 30 at 10:30 a.m. on Hillside Children’s Center’s Monroe Avenue campus located at 1183 Monroe Avenue. A press conference will immediately precede the unwrapping. The unwrapping event is to celebrate Hillside Special Santas’ 25 years of caring.
Hillside Special Santas began with distribution of donated gifts stored in a Hillside leader’s office and has grown over the last quarter of a century into a holiday giving program serving children and families in 24 counties throughout New York State.
“It's hard to believe that over the past 25 years we have estimated that more than 39,000 children and families have received gifts through Hillside Special Santas,” says Sally Bohne, Hillside Special Santas manager. “The growth of the program and what it has meant is truly reflective of that special human quality that is shown when there are others in need.”
The event is also an opportunity to highlight and thank those organizations in the community that have helped to fulfill Hillside Special Santas’ gift goal by providing an opportunity for people to pick up gift tags at their locations throughout the community. Organizations, such as Canandaigua National Bank & Trust which is offering gift tags for the fourth consecutive year in the lobbies of its 22 branches, will help Hillside Special Santas provide gifts for the more than 6,500 individuals the program will serve this holiday season.
