Adoption Resource Network at Hillside Children's Center to Hold 15th Annual Perspectives on Adoption and Foster Care Conference
Adoption Resource Network at Hillside Children’s Center will hold its 15th Annual Perspectives on Adoption and Foster Care Conference on Saturday, November 4, 2006 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Bay Trail Middle School, 1760 Scribner Road, Penfield.
The conference is designed to help adoptees, parents, family members, and birth parents considering adoption and foster care grow in the adoption experience. The conference offers a wide variety of workshops and informative lectures regarding the unique issues of foster care and adoption.
The conference also features Gregory C. Keck, Ph.D., and Kim Stevens–two speakers that are guaranteed to deliver. Keck, founder and director of the Attachment and Bonding Center of Ohio, uses an engaging and humorous presentation style to communicate information regarding attachment disorders and specializes in working with adoptive families whose children have experienced early trauma. Stevens, founder and CEO of Raising Children’s Voices, has long believed that children are our best teachers and works to put youth in charge of their own success and at the helm of effective child welfare work everywhere.
Early registration by October 26 is $70 for the full day and $40 for half the day. Registration after October 27 is $80 for the full day and $50 for half the day. Walk-in registrations the day of the conference are also $80/$50.

Hillside Children’s Center is an affiliate of Hillside Family of Agencies, a family and children services organization that provides child welfare, mental health, youth development, juvenile justice, special education, and developmental disabilities services across central and western New York.
