Hillside Family of Agencies Introduces Revolutionary AdaptaCare™ Cottage
The AdaptaCare™ Cottage, developed by Hillside Family of Agencies, is the future of residential treatment facilities for youth in care.
The AdaptaCare™ Cottage is a pioneering architectural achievement that incorporates a revolutionary design which meets or exceeds the most stringent regulatory requirements of New York State Office of Children and Family Services, Office of Mental Health, and Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilites. The flexibility of the design allows organizations that provide residential treatment services to accommodate between six and ten children and adapt to new programming needs without costly renovations.
Hillside Family of Agencies has infused every design detail of the AdaptaCare™ Cottage with its extensive experience working with children, youth, and families. The result is a building that is bright, friendly, and home-like with an enhanced therapeutic environment that incorporates areas for group therapeutic activities, family visits, private space, and staff functions. The AdaptaCare™ Cottage’s integrated public and private spaces foster a continuum of socialization among clients and staff.
The first AdaptaCare™ Cottage was constructed at Snell Farm Children’s Center in Bath, an affiliate of Hillside Family of Agencies. Funding for the development and construction of the AdaptaCare™ Cottage came from a generous donation by Robert Horton.
