Locally produced public affairs broadcast wins prestigious broadcasting award
Thumbs up to the WROC News 8 Now team and Hillside Family of Agencies, co-producers of Celebrating Today’s Family, for the television special’s selection as Best Public Affairs broadcast by the New York State Broadcasters Association.
Celebrating Today’s Family explored family structure in the new millennium and the issues and challenges facing the “new age” family units that exist today. It is the seventh program in the award-winning "Today's Family" series, developed to increase awareness and understanding about critical issues affecting New York State families. Other shows in the series dealt with teen suicide, domestic abuse, youth substance abuse, stress, sexuality among today’s youth, and childhood obesity.
