Hillside Children’s Center names new executive director
Karen Zandi has been appointed the new executive director of Hillside Children’s Center (HCC).
As HCC executive director, Zandi has responsibility for the management and administration of staff, services, and facilities of Hillside Children’s Center in accordance with the mission and vision of Hillside Family of Agencies.
Since coming to HCC in 1987, Zandi has held a variety of direct care and leadership roles at Hillside, including senior social worker for social work staff and interns, and both assistant and director of emergency services. In 1996, she became Integration Leader responsible for HCC’s central intake, including clinical oversight of 24-hour access and triage, client information and clinical records, and centralized communications. In 2003, Zandi took on the additional responsibility of serving as leader of the Chief Operating Team, the leadership team responsible for operations, fiscal management, and strategic planning for Hillside Children's Center.

Zandi received a bachelor's degree in social work at the University of Pittsburgh in 1982, completed studies in social work and administration at the University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1985, and earned a master's degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986.
Hillside Children’s Center is an affiliate of Hillside Family of Agencies, a family and children services organization that provides child welfare, mental health, youth development, juvenile justice, special education, and developmental disabilities services across central and western New York. Hillside Family of Agencies is also comprised of affiliates Crestwood Children’s Center, Crestwood Children’s Foundation, Hillside Children’s Foundation, Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection, and Snell Farm Children’s Center.
