| Requirements: | Under the supervision of the Team Leader or Manager, monitors and provides support to a minimum of 30 Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection participants (students) promoting successful completion of high school. Provides connection between home, school and work. This work will include: • Recruits and interviews candidates (students) for the voluntary program. • Meets one-on-one weekly with program participants discussing: home, school and work (academic progress reports, work progress, G.P.A., selective skipping, career interests, positive work habits, personal hygiene and responsibility, etc.). • Maintains an up-to-date portfolio on students in caseload. • Identifies academic deficiencies and elicits help. • Links participants in need of academic assistance with classroom teacher or program tutors. • Facilitates Pre-Employment training and job placement. • Arranges and facilitates a Parent Meeting twice/year and maintains contact with parent/guardian at least once/month. • Performs other duties as needed. Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of experience & degree accepted. 2 years experience working with youth and families in an urban setting perferred. Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation required. |
